Casey had spent most of her life watching the Predators control Queen City, never believing they could be brought to justice. She was the one who always passed unnoticed as Max’s stepsister. They underestimated what she was capable of until it was almost too late. When the Predators discovered they were her prey, there was hell to pay, and Casey was going to have to pay her dues with her soul.
One mistake can fuck up your life forever.
Max trusted his stepsister, not believing for a second she would betray the Predators. She used her body to get what she wanted, and now Max would use the same wiles on her to trap Casey in her own web of deceit. The Predators demanded revenge, and Max was going to see they got what they wanted, even if the price was his soul.
This was one standoff neither was going to win.
So I started this by reading Razer’s Ride, Viper’s Run and Knox’s stand and Sex Piston, Teased, Tainted, Shade’s Fall, King, Cash’s Fight, Fat Louise, Riot, Shade and now Stand Off. I would highly reccommend reading it in the order I have just put above because the series is so much better that way! You get all sides and it is just fantastic!

So obviously next to The Last Riders, The Destructors & The Blue Horsemen The predators are my next favourite MC. I am still very excited for Penni and Jackal’s book but in the meantime the next one in the series was Max and Casey now when I first read this I rated it 4 stars since then my rating has actually changed. You can find out at the end of the post what it actually is.
So I really struggled with Max and Casey’s relationship, they were really cute together but at times I felt that they didn’t always have the chemistry there and they were both holding back. Which obviously at the beginning they were but up until the end of the book when Max finds Casey again is only when it started to feel more real between them or when they were around his kids.
Casey’s motives in this book is a little bit of all the place we don’t find out until the end and even then it felt a little rushed. We had one like little drop of hint in the book but it wasn’t enough to actually fully grasp why Casey was trying to get The Predators arrested and I feel like the author really missed putting it into the book and it really let it down.
Oh wow Casey slightly dumb. You don’t sneak and try to break into Ice’s computer on the first night of you being in the clubhouse that’s just a dumb move on her part. Like come on girl have you not watched enough movies to know how that’s going to play out?
Penni and Jackal are hilarious, their book is amazing and you know it’s everything you need from these two because they are both firecrackers and honestly the little snippets that they both appeared together in this book was hilarious.
Despite everything Max is a great dad to his kids and I love that we get to see him being a great dad to them. Although his cooking skills are something to be desired, also so weird that all his kids are named after him and it’s now become a thing with all his baby mumma’s which he does have good relationships with.
Wow Casey finding out about what Max said about that after he fucked her he’d share her with the club. I am so glad that Max beat the shit out of Lizard for trying to basically rape her though. And damn Max has a lot of grovelling to do.
So throughout the book we hear one thing of Cole and that is he is Casey’s older brother and that’s all we know until the end and I mean right at the end. Cole is Casey’s brother who has brain damaged thanks to being attacked by her mother’s boyfriend when he tried to take Casey. So he’s basically in the mind of like a child and he loves seashells and it’s really cute. The Predators got a real shock when they saw Cole but I also loved how much they were willing to play with him and talk about seashells.
I also love how protective Casey is of Cole and you can see she was willing to risk everything for her brother.
I love all the mothers being friends with each other and even Casey it’s nice that instead of them fighting each other and just being angry with each other that they all work together and have a great co-parenting relationship.
The lingerie party was absolutely hilarious, Penni getting everyone high whilst Casey is feeding every one the wine. Then when they got themselves into the lingerie sending the boys a photo and their reactions. Also I loved Jackal’s reaction when he saw the photo off Ice, Colton and Max’s phone and that in itself was hilarious. Those two will explode.
I really liked their ending, it was nice to see them all getting on and we learned that Max and Casey adopted a little girl called Skye who had down syndrome which was so cute. Has someone who has a little brother with down syndrome it’s nice to finally see it in books.
