Shade’s Fall – Jamie Begley

Shade is everything Lily doesn’t want in a man. He’s rude, obnoxious and he’s definitely not a cowboy. The tattooed enforcer for The Last Riders is a mystery Lily doesn’t want to solve. He’s too much for her to handle, especially with the nightmares from her past constantly threatening her sanity.

Lily is everything Shade wants in a woman. She’s sweet, kind and submissive. When she discovers the truth about The Last Riders, it threatens to tear apart every relationship within the club. Her rebellion causes the predatory instincts to rise in the ex Navy SEAL sniper.

When The Last Riders are threatened by another motorcycle club just as determined to claim Lily, Shade is her only hope of surviving the approaching confrontation. Could their passion be Shade’s downfall?

Warning: This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. So I started this by reading Razer’s RideViper’s Run and Knox’s stand and Sex PistonTeased, Tainted and now Shade’s Fall. Although from different series majority of Jamie’s series interconnect and for me I have read them in the reading order that Jamie suggested. As always this is actually my second read through of this book the first time I flew through the series so fast I actually forgot to write any notes to help my review so got the joy of rereading them which isn’t an issue because I love this series.

This review will have spoilers.

So from the beginning of Razer’s Ride I have been waiting for Shade and Lily and damn I love my babies. I have been waiting for this for so long and damn it was worth it because I love Shade and Lily and honestly they are so perfect for each other and it makes my heart melt. They’re just my babies I think out of all the couples Shade and Lily are still my favourite couple. My number one couple still.

Lily is very much such a complex character, we see her grow so much in the earlier books yet she makes so much progress in this book too. I love Lily once you get past the shy timid girl who is trying to deal with her issues you get a feisty girl.

Shade is just the best. I do love that we only see him go soft whenever Lily is involved or that he’s willing to do anything to protect Lily. I love how Shade is also willing to let Lily try and figure out how to deal with things herself and pushes her to deal with it rather than letting her hide behind him and Beth like she has done previously.

I love that Lily responds to Shade’s dominance, it’s like she knows instantly she’s safe and protected and that Shade won’t let any harm come to her. I just really liked how much trust she was willing to place in him and that he was willing to let her grow. I love that Shade made Lily do self defence classes to protect herself if the need ever came across.

There’s a moment in this book when Lily discovers exactly what happens in the clubhouse and that Beth didn’t tell her what happened and she felt betrayed by them not telling her and ran off back to school. I love that Shade refused to let Lily kick all of them out of her life and just kept appearing at her school and spending time with her.

So when Lily finally does come back the guys to make her more comfortable begin to turn the basement into a little more comfortable and clothed party downstairs on the Friday. So Lily begins to show the girls some pole dancing on one of the Friday nights and when Shade, Cash and Train see her pole dancing their reactions are absolutely hilarious and it was one of my favourite scenes.

So a running thing through this book is everybody loves Shade’s shower and when Lily talks to Beth and Winter about the shower and then they go and see it. Their reaction over the shower really makes me laugh and the fact they make Razor and Viper change the shower for their house and it honestly makes me laugh so much.

So through Teased and Tainted we heard about Callie and her abuse which is obviously Lily. When the full extent of Lily’s abuse is released it is actually heartbreaking, I wanted to just wrap her up in a hug and keep her safe. I think if King hadn’t done what he had done and killed Callie’s mum and the abuser Shade would have done it.

Shade And Lilly’s wedding was so cute! I love the fact he knew she wanted a snow wedding and he was willing to make it happen no matter what. My heart melts for this couple because I love them so much.

Georgia is a nasty bitch.

Lily’s story of how she came to god. I thought it was lovely and the way she was sharing it, honestly just Lily’s whole background breaks my heart.

I think there’s one thing though Shade is still a man and makes mistakes and boy did he learn that lesson fast. When Lily catches Raci wearing Shade’s jacket she is fuming so obviously the girl tries to get her own book and asks Rider for his. Oh my god the reaction for the rest of the club was hilarious and just how nobody would really say a word. I love that Lily was willing to say something about it. This is one of my favourite scenes because it shows just how much Lily has grown and changed.

So of course being a Jamie Begley book we know what happens on a Friday night party and we are very luckily treated with scene between Shade and Lily and Knox and Diamond in the same room obviously both boys stick to their woman but damn it was hot and sexy as hell.

Last riders. We ride.

Oh my god. Legit chills when I read this.

So since rereading this book I have been waiting for Lucky. And hell yes we finally get to see Lucky in all his glory. Hello Pastor Dean. I remember the first time I read it and I was like holy shit did not expect that. I love seeing Lucky.
