April Wrap Up

So although Febraury and March were late, April’s is right on time and I feel achieved about that. So there was some rereads this month and I’ve been planning a lot of reviews that are coming for these books.

  1. Shade – Jamie Begley
Want, need, pain, and joy were emotions Shade had never known existed before Lily. He knew the first time he saw her face that she was going to change his life forever. The thing he hadn’t expected was how hard it would be to hide who and what he was from her. Each step he took out of the shadows revealed more of himself, until only one secret remained. Shade arrogantly believed he could help heal the wounds from her past, but now it was his own past that was trying to tear them apart. To keep Lily, Shade would have to use the very skills he had been trying to hide from her. The skills that made him a killer … a soulless monster.

Epilogue 1 & 2 was extremely cute and I was there and ready for that. What I wasn’t ready for is Epilogue 3. WHO INVITED YOU? Like it broke my heart, it just wasn’t needed having them die together I mean that was cute. But you know epilogue 3 wasn’t needed! I could have just been happy without it.

If you click on the cover or title it will send you to my full review 🙂

  1. Stand Off – Jamie Begley
One mistake can change your life forever.

Casey had spent most of her life watching the Predators control Queen City, never believing they could be brought to justice. She was the one who always passed unnoticed as Max’s stepsister. They underestimated what she was capable of until it was almost too late. When the Predators discovered they were her prey, there was hell to pay, and Casey was going to have to pay her dues with her soul.

One mistake can fuck up your life forever.

Max trusted his stepsister, not believing for a second she would betray the Predators. She used her body to get what she wanted, and now Max would use the same wiles on her to trap Casey in her own web of deceit. The Predators demanded revenge, and Max was going to see they got what they wanted, even if the price was his soul.

This was one standoff neither was going to win.

So I really struggled with Max and Casey’s relationship, they were really cute together but at times I felt that they didn’t always have the chemistry there and they were both holding back. Which obviously at the beginning they were but up until the end of the book when Max finds Casey again is only when it started to feel more real between them or when they were around his kids.

If you click on the title or the cover it will send you to my review 🙂

  1. Lucky’s Choice – Jamie Begley
25998062. sy475
Life dealt him a dead man’s hand.

Lucky had always led a life of service. Always put his life on the line for someone else, managing to survive by pure luck and skill. After bringing an end to a multi-state drug ring, he was finally able to live the life he had wanted as a Last Rider…

A good man would walk away and not touch the curvy woman who had been tugging on his heartstrings. Lucky wasn’t a good man. Therefore, the bad-ass biker in him had a choice: once again become the man he had pretended to be and stake his claim, or take the devil’s highway.

Some girls had all the luck.

Willa wasn’t one of them. All she wanted to do was give a home to the children she had made orphans. Instead, she found herself needing help from the man who had left the pulpit behind to embrace a life of sin.

Painfully shy and withdrawn she wanted a quiet life, a simple man, and well-behaved children. The last thing she had ever expected was for Lucky to want her size twenty body and show her a passion that would lead her straight to hell.

This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, multiple partners, violence, drugs, domestic discipline, BBW, and explicit language offends you.

This book is a stand alone story. However, to receive the full experience these books are recommended before “Lucky’s Choice” in the following order:

Razer’s Ride (The Last Riders, #1)
Viper’s Run (The Last Riders, #2)
Knox’s Stand (The Last Riders, #3)
Sex Piston (Biker Bitches, #1)
Teased (The VIP Room, #1)
Tainted (The VIP Room, #2)
Shade’s Fall (The Last Riders, #4)
King (The VIP Room, #3)
Cash (The Last Riders, #5)
Fat Louise (Biker Bitches, #2)
Shade (The Last Riders, #6)

Lucky is one of my favourite men out The Last Riders he holds a special place in my heart and I love that he finally got Willa and this book was just so cute and I loved it!

My review for this book will be coming very soon so hold tight!

  1. Keeping What’s His – Jamie Begley
26162383. sy475
The Porter Brother’s were raised to live and die by Three Rules

One, a Porter stands his ground

Two, a Porter leaves no enemy standing

Sutton Creech was a cheat and a liar. Tate Porter had found that out when he was eighteen, and he had no intention of letting her make a fool out of him again. He didn’t care how much pain he saw in her eyes or how old memories tugged at his unforgiving heart until, the night a hidden secret is revealed and everything Tate had believed about their past is shattered, proving he had let the woman he loved get away.

Between trying to protect his family and running their pot growing business, Tate doesn’t have time to play the “Nice Guy”. He’d just have to remember the most important rule his father had given them: A Porter always keeps what’s his.

It takes a special kind of woman to deal with the Porters and luckily for them they each get their women not without a little bit of drama mixed in. I loved being in the Porter families.

My review for this book will be coming very soon so sit tight!

  1. Merry Blissmas – Jamie Begley
28012921. sy475
What can I say? I’m not a nice person. When I walk by, people call me a slut, and I’m okay with that. I believe in calling a spade a spade. I am a slut.

With the holidays approaching, I miss belonging to The Last Riders. Drake’s keeping me warm, but he wants more than I can give. He wants me to trust him, to believe he can protect me. Doesn’t he know Santa put me on the Naughty List long ago?

What can I say? I’m a nice guy and have always done the responsible thing.

Bliss is everything I shouldn’t want, but it’s hard to resist a woman who stopped believing in miracles. She wants to be back with The Last Riders, whom she considers her true family. Doesn’t she know it’s Christmas, and miracles do happen?

I’ve always been having mixed feelings when it came to Bliss and I feel like her story gives another side of her that we hadn’t seen in other books and we missed out on. Like so much of Bliss makes sense.

My review will be coming very soon!

  1. Hostage – Jamie Begley
28475027. sy475
The Enforcer’s Oath: Protect the club at all costs.

Jackal made an enemy out of Penni when he kidnapped her years ago. He let her go, never imagining she would take a piece of his soul with her. Now protecting Penni against a former brother will force him to place the club against her once again.

She may be the Hostage, but he’s the one held captive by the lust she refuses to admit binds them together.

She thinks The Last Riders and another man will be all the protection she needs to end the tug of war between them. However, he’s never lost a battle, especially against a tiny blonde with an attitude, begging him to teach her that her place is under him.

To end the battle, he’s going to have to reclaim the piece of soul she stole from him or claim a part of her soul as prisoner.

When a predator takes you hostage, you’re his forever.

I loved Penni being that she is Shade’s sister we knew that her story was going to be a ride and boy with Jackal was this a ride. I loved their story and it’s definitely one of my favourites.

Review will be coming soon!

  1. Winter’s Touch – Jamie Begley
30622123. sy475
As president of The Last Riders, Viper’s only fear was losing his wife. After all, he had almost lost her once before.

As wife to the president, Winter lived in fear every day: fear that a club enemy would take Viper from her, fear that one of the club women would tempt him to stray, fear that she wasn’t enough of a woman for him. One thing Winter didn’t fear was risking everything to carry her husband’s child, even her health, yet Viper refused to take the chance.

Losing hope, Winter made one last ditch effort, determined to make Viper realize that some things were worth fighting for besides the club.

This story is definitely one that deals with different books to the others and it’s about babies and the risk that can come with having babies and with Winter’s injuries a pregnancy for her would be risky. Winter and Viper definitely take you through a range of emotions and I love it.

Review will also be coming soon. (Anyone see that I’m behind on reviews?)

  1. Train’s Clash – Jamie Begley
28821417. sy475
Beware of what you wish for; it might just come true.

Train swore never to let a woman get under his skin unless it meant forever, and forever only meant belonging to The Last Riders. He had believed his one brief sexual encounter with Killyama was a hit it and quit it. Instead, her green eyes haunted his memories. Then when he tried to convince the woman he was serious as his “more the merrier” lifestyle became a painful reminder of the life he lived, Killyama used his own club against him to keep him from what he wanted.

Killyama was holding out for a man who could offer her forever, and Train wasn’t the forever kind of man. He was a Mr. Here and Now; the wicked warrior in her dreams. He might be a walking, talking sex machine, but she needed more than that. So, until he proved she was the only one sharing his bed, the only part of her body he was going to see was her ass walking away.

Train and Killyama now this was a ride. I forgot how much happens in this book as well as Train and Killyama getting together and it will make a load more sense when my review is posted.

  1. Standing His Ground – Jamie Begley
26167797. sy475
The Porter brothers were raised to live and die by Three Rules.
One, a Porter always keeps what’s his.
Two, a Porter leaves no enemy standing.

Greer’s been searching for love in all the wrong places. He wants kids … and lots of them, so it’s time to get busy and find the lucky woman to share his bed and his life. Though there isn’t a lot to choose from in the small town of Treepoint, he has managed to narrow his choices down to three.
The strange thing is, the one he’s falling in love with remains a mystery, hiding her face and name in the messages she sends from behind her computer. The mysterious woman may dodge his questions about her identity, but it’s only a matter of time before she finds out that this Porter brother won’t back away from something he wants, and he wants her.
Come hell or high water, he will find the one who goes by KentuckyGirl and make her his, despite what anyone says, even her. And KentuckyGirl is going to find out the last Porter rule the hard way: A Porter always stands his ground and leads his prey into his waiting arms…

It would take a special kind of person to love asshole Greer and that someone was right under his nose the whole time and was Holly. Greer is the asshole we all love and I love how their story roles out in this book.

  1. Tortured Eyes – Charlotte E Hart & Rachel De Lune
51202084. sy475
“A word of advice, be careful what you’re looking into.”
But I didn’t listen.
I went after the target that had become my obsession – Logan Cane. He was the weak link. My way to finally serve the justice my father laid on me to finish. Except, nothing about Logan was weak, and instead, he shattered me.
It was too late to stop or deny what was happening.

I was supposed to hate them all, him included.
But my grief burned into need.
And the need turned my world inside out.

“Don’t try running.”
That’s what I said to her. I meant it. There wasn’t any escape, no redemption either. You cross any Cane and you will feel the full force of what that means. I hurt – she hurts. Simple.

Bryce McCarthy got herself neck-deep in my business and made the mistake of thinking she knew what she was doing. She didn’t, and because of her everything went all kinds of wrong.
Maybe she’ll survive my twisted wrath. Maybe she won’t.
Either way, we’ve both got a debt to pay.
And she’s paying hers first.

Guilt. Obsession. Dark. Erotic. Romance

I really enjoyed this story and the plot obviously I can’t go into full detail because it will really spoil the story but just know it’s fantastic and majority of the twists I did not see coming at all! I am sad this series is over but at the back of the book we were told we have a new series coming and we’ve already met the main character and I have no idea who it is but I am so excited and cannot wait!

If you want to read my full review click on the title or cover 🙂

  1. Crazy Bitch – Jamie Begley
36119169. sy475
My mother used to have a saying for everything.

“You can’t be pretty and lucky.”

She wasn’t pretty or lucky.

“You have to kiss a lot of toads before you find your Prince Charming.”

I kissed too many of those. Sorry, but Prince Charming isn’t in Hicktown, Kentucky.

“The good ones go to Heaven; the bad ones go to Hell.”

Guess I’m going to Hell.

“Hell is paved with good intentions.”

Surprisingly, that one is true. Why? Because …

I intended to stay away from Calder Riggs.

I intended not to fall in love with him.

I intended to find a man who wasn’t a loser or a joker.

Oh well, I’ve never been afraid of Hell, anyway.

That’s why I’m Crazy Bitch!

Calder and Crazy Bitch, I loved their relationship much more the second time around than the first weirdly. We see the side of drug addicts we don’t usually get to see and I thought that was very interesting but you’ll have to read my review because I don’t want to spoil.

Review coming soon!

  1. Rider’s Revenge – Jamie Begley
36498884. sy475
Revenge is a seven-letter word that isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a word for those who have been wronged.

Jo Turner has been waiting five, long years to finally turn revenge into vengeance. Using Rider, the pretty-faced manwhore, is simply the price she is willing to pay to satiate her desire for revenge. Little does she know, she makes herself a target from the one thing Rider has sworn to give his life to protect—The Last Riders.
When you wake the soldier, be prepared for the consequences.
Rider is going to teach her a hard lesson: revenge is a double-edged sword … and it always cuts both ways.

Rider’s book was a let down, I expected way more from his book.

  1. Stalked – Jamie Begley
40251512. sy475
There are some days it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed.

My girlfriend kicked me out. Then, even my dog didn’t want me, so he ran away. My boss fired me when I called to let him know I was going to be late. And to put the cherry on top of the crap sundae, I accidentally doused a woman in water who had more followers than brain cells.

As if becoming one of the most hated men in Queen City wasn’t bad enough, some lunatic was stalking the popular life coach I had soaked. The fucker should be running from Zoey, not watching, especially with me protecting her. Some fuckers must learn the hard way, and I’m going to be the one to teach him. You don’t mess with anyone who belongs to a Predator.

It was a perfect day … until I met Stump.

I found a new friend, reached half a million followers, and was on the brink of putting my past behind me when the crazy biker accused me of stealing his dog. To make matters worse, he then blamed me for people hating on him. He did that with no help from me. I don’t blame the dog for running away. I would, too, if I belonged to him.

My skills as a life coach don’t work on him. I might not be able to change the irritating Predator, but I’m not above using him to catch the one who wants me dead.

This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, multiple partners, violence, child abuse, and explicit language offends you.

I really liked Stump and Zoey and I think compared to the other books in the Predator series are a little different and the letters Zoey wrote to her mother broke my heart and this one definitely hit me in the feels.

Review will be coming soon!

  1. Claiming The Enemy – Jamie Begley
26173616. sy475
The Porter brothers were raised to live and die by Three Rules.
One, a Porter always keeps what’s his.
Two, a Porter stands his ground.
Three …
Dustin never had to search for his true love. They used to play and get in trouble together, shared a playpen, and their mothers used to be best friends. But that was before their fathers made them enemies and changed the course of their lives. Now the Porters stayed on their side of the mountain while the Hayes stayed on theirs.
Believing it was easier to coexist as frenemies with Jessie Hayes rather than changing the Porter stubborn ways, Dustin was content with booty calls, raising his son, and growing weed as a side business … until he heard her screams. Now he was going to show a murderer just how much they had underestimated this Porter brother. And he was going to have to break his father’s last rule: Leave no enemy standing … to claim the enemy that held his heart.

So this book hit me harder than the first time around which I’m finding a lot. Damn did this one hit you in the feels, so much happens and so much pain and I spent the end of this book crying and just you know it’s heartbreaking.

The review will be coming soon!

  1. Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone – J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy until he is rescued by an owl, taken to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, learns to play Quidditch and does battle in a deadly duel. The reason: Harry Potter is a wizard.

It’s weird I watch the film quite regularly I need to make a habit of rereading the books because I forgot so much of what happened in the book.Peeves! The Weasley Twins being even more hilarious having more mention of Charlie and Percy. I liked having all that again and remembering it all!

  1. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – J.K. Rowling
822147. sx318
The Dursleys were so mean and hideous that summer that all Harry Potter wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he’s packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike

And strike it does. For in Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor, Gilderoy Lockhart, a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls’ bathroom, and the unwanted attentions of Ron Weasley’s younger sister, Ginny.

But each of these seem minor annoyances when the real trouble begins, and someone — or something — starts turning Hogwarts students to stone. Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects . . . Harry Potter himself?

Book Ginny is so much better. Lockhart is even more of a dick in the books. George and Fred are still hilarious. Percy being all cute with a girlfriend.

  1. Harry Potter and the Prison of Askaban – J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter’s third year at Hogwarts is full of new dangers. A convicted murderer, Sirius Black, has broken out of Azkaban prison, and it seems he’s after Harry. Now Hogwarts is being patrolled by the dementors, the Azkaban guards who are hunting Sirius. But Harry can’t imagine that Sirius or, for that matter, the evil Lord Voldemort could be more frightening than the dementors themselves, who have the terrible power to fill anyone they come across with aching loneliness and despair. Meanwhile, life continues as usual at Hogwarts. A top-of-the-line broom takes Harry’s success at Quidditch, the sport of the Wizarding world, to new heights. A cute fourth-year student catches his eye. And he becomes close with the new Defense of the Dark Arts teacher, who was a childhood friend of his father. Yet despite the relative safety of life at Hogwarts and the best efforts of the dementors, the threat of Sirius Black grows ever closer. But if Harry has learned anything from his education in wizardry, it is that things are often not what they seem. Tragic revelations, heartwarming surprises, and high-stakes magical adventures await the boy wizard in this funny and poignant third installment of the beloved series.

So obviously I’ve watched the films more times than the book and you know you forget so much of what they don’t put into the movie and after not reading the books for a while I love remembering it all again!

  1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – J.K. Rowling
The summer holidays are dragging on and Harry Potter can’t wait for the start of the school year. It is his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and there are spells to be learnt and (unluckily) Potions and Divination lessons to be attended. But Harry can’t know that the atmosphere is darkening around him, and his worst enemy is preparing a fate that it seems will be inescapable …With characteristic wit, fast-paced humour and marvellous emotional depth, J.K. Rowling has proved herself yet again to be a master story-teller.

Reading the book again is so interesting especially because so much I’ve forgotten and I love getting more information. Rita is really horrendous more than I forgot. Triwizard is amazing. Fluer and Bill was like love at first sight. Harry giving Fred & George their winnings I loved it.

  1. Twisted Desire – Jessi Elliot
42282399. sy475
Being left to lead the fae alongside an annoyingly charming partner was never part of the plan.

Skylar Chen is about to receive the promotion of an eternity. After Tristan and Aurora decide to trade their esteemed status for the chance at a normal life, Skylar is chosen to lead the fae.

The catch? She has to work with Nikolai Sterling. With his constant smirks and annoyingly good looks, he has a way of getting under Skylar’s skin like no other. Despite this, she’d still rather get under him.

Sexual tension aside, they have a bigger issue to deal with: The Experiment—a human organization built solely on hatred of the fae, which threatens to wipe their kind from existence.

In preparation for battle, Skylar and Nikolai work side-by-side to recruit allies and bring the fae together.

Fighting to protect her people is something Skylar can manage. But the skeletons in her designer closet make opening up to Nikolai a far more difficult task—even as they set out to bring down the organization set on destroying them.

Nikolai and Skylar are cute and I love the constant banter between them. I love these babies. I was disappointed that tehre was no reunion with Aurora and Tristan.

Review will be coming soon

While she’s no stranger to the rumors of Jackson Hawthorne, she is new to his charm. And soon, she finds it nearly impossible to resist—especially when he makes no effort to hide his blatant desire for her.

Tensions run high as Jackson’s well-being is threatened by angry fae and humans alike with a mission to destroy his business—and him.

But temptations run even higher after Kelsey swears to safeguard his life—even on the days she wants to kill him herself. And what about his heart—or hers? When they find common ground in new territory, lines blur, defenses crumble, and devotion begins to outweigh duty.

I love Jackson he’s so charming, I can’t explain it the attraction between him and Kelsey it was just so adorable and cute and I loved it.

The two push and pull, slowly crumbling their walls, seemingly brought together by fate, because the turmoil that haunts their pasts is interlinked in undeniable ways. But can these two fighters finally lay down their arms?

In Beautifully Damaged, L.A. Fiore delves into deep scars and lets love and forgiveness uncover redemption.

So this was a reread for me and I love L.A. Fiore this is the book that got me into reading her books and I do believe I may do a review for this book because I have a lot of feelings.

  1. Beautifully Forgotten – L.A. Fiore
Successful restaurateur Lucien Black’s blue-green eyes and unattainable attitude drive women wild. But his abandonment issues and criminal past have left him emotionally closed off. When a familiar face shows up for a job interview at his nightclub, the ache he has tried to forget tears at his heart—it’s the girl who once healed him… and then abandoned him.
Darcy MacBride still remembers Lucien’s delicate touch when they were both wildly in love teenagers. His gorgeous eyes had soothed her hurt after she’d been dumped off at the orphanage where Lucien lived. Darcy felt his jagged edges fit perfectly into her own, and she’d planned to spend the rest of her life with him—until a mysterious man warned her away. Now, fourteen years later, she’s ready to endure the torture of Lucien’s indifference and having him as her boss…just to be near him. But when it seems that they might finally take up where they left off, a devastating secret buried in their past threatens to tear them apart again.

L.A. Fiore’s story of smoldering love recaptures the tormented romance of Beautifully Damaged.

Darcy and Lucian their story was absolutely heartbreaking and god it really did hit in the feels. Again there will be a review coming.

  1. Beautifully Decadent – L.A. Fiore
28967258. sy475
Avery Collins has just landed her dream job, pastry chef for the posh-Manhattan restaurant Clover. Her new boss, Trace Montgomery, even helped with securing her an affordable place to live: a beautifully restored carriage house owned by his friend, Rafe McKenzie—a man that makes her catch her breath and stirs her imagination. Trouble is, he’s involved with someone, his father is being released after 25 years in prison and Avery is just his tenant. Exploring the attraction that sizzles whenever they’re together would be the icing on the cake, but Avery knows all too well that you can’t have everything. Of course, what’s cake without icing?

Rafe McKenzie’s world shattered at nine when his father Liam—the only parent he knew—was arrested and convicted for armed robbery. Growing up in the system, Rafe managed to survive his childhood and now has a job he enjoys, a house he’s restoring and a tight circle of friends. He’s even working on reconciling with his dad, both eager to put the past in the past.

Happy for the income a tenant would bring, Rafe agrees to rent his carriage house to Clover’s new pastry chef. When Avery Collins pulls up his drive, she’s not at all what he’s expecting. Funny, sexy and as sweet as her desserts, it doesn’t take long for things between them to heat up. Just when it seems as if they’ll have their cake and eat it too, the past comes back with deadly intent leaving Rafe to figure out who’s pulling the strings before his world shatters again.

Avery and Rafe was so cute and I loved the playfullness between them the baking and the wood working. Loki is also so cute! There will be a review coming!

  1. Axe – Ruby Carter
31440998. sy475
Dani Cooper is a small woman with big ambitions… and even bigger worries.

Determined to escape her past, Dani throws herself into her dream of becoming a tattoo artist, but quickly finds herself falling into the lap of Axe Cole, bad boy biker and president of the Devil’s Reapers MC. Though she finds herself instantly drawn towards him, past experiences keep her from giving in – until it becomes clear that fate has other ideas.

When a traumatic event finds Dani leaning on Axe harder than ever, old rivalries reignite, and a terrifying threat looms, Axe finds himself faced with a choice: follow his heart and give himself to the woman he loves, or protect his Pixie by walking away for good.

Will Axe and Dani’s relationship survive, or will the revelation that their lives are more intertwined than even they know prove too great?

**This is an extended edition of my debut novel – the first in Devil’s Reapers MC series – Axe. Boasting a whole host of new content and reimagined scenes inspired by my true life experiences.**

**Please note this story is semi autobiograpical and is very graphic regarding sex/violence/death.**

I felt very disappointed after reading this, it really didn’t feel like it was well established. It was very fast-paced I think too fast-paced. I felt like some of the plot could have been explored more and it was just a missed opportunity. It felt a lot of the time that it was just convenient. The abuse storyline was written very well but again I wish it would have been explored more. Axe and Dani were just very insta-lovey. The author had chances to explore with some of the other characters and felt like that was really missed. I really liked the friendship between Zara and Dani also Jake but again I felt at times the friendship was used more to convenience than them being actual friends. I was just really disappointed. Overall it was just an easy read that left me disappointed. I’m hoping her other books have improved on this and I’ll probably give them a chance.

If you click on the cover or title it will direct you to my full review.

So this month was a fabulous reading month for me I am hoping May is just as good! I will keep posting reviews and getting them up!

Tell me your favourite book that you’ve read from the month April and let’s chat!
