The Porter Brother’s were raised to live and die by Three Rules

One, a Porter stands his ground

Two, a Porter leaves no enemy standing

Sutton Creech was a cheat and a liar. Tate Porter had found that out when he was eighteen, and he had no intention of letting her make a fool out of him again. He didn’t care how much pain he saw in her eyes or how old memories tugged at his unforgiving heart until, the night a hidden secret is revealed and everything Tate had believed about their past is shattered, proving he had let the woman he loved get away.

Between trying to protect his family and running their pot growing business, Tate doesn’t have time to play the “Nice Guy”. He’d just have to remember the most important rule his father had given them: A Porter always keeps what’s his.

So I started this by reading Razer’s RideViper’s Run and Knox’s stand and Sex PistonTeasedTaintedShade’s FallKingCash’s FightFat Louise, Riot, Shade, Stand Off, Lucky’s Choice and now Keeping What’s His. I would highly reccommend reading it in the order I have just put above because the series is so much better that way!

There will be spoilers.

So I was very excited for Tate’s book as much as the Porter Brothers are assholes and butt heads a lot with The Last Riders I couldn’t wait because you know it’s going to be good. I love Tate despite what he said to Rachel in her book it came from a place of care and that’s one thing I love about him that no matter what Tate is a person who loves and will protect his family no matter what.

Sutton. Wow her story broke my heart, her abuse and then having her daughter die in her arms it was so heartbreaking. I hated that she felt like she couldn’t come home because so many people would throw her failed marriage at her and her pride. It was interesting that she wore her wedding ring as a reminded to not let herself get into that situation again.

So when these two first see each other Sutton is mad as hell at Tate to the point she never wants to see him again but alas we have a plot that makes it so they do. When Tate is accused of murdering Lyle the town drunk he hides at Sutton’s house as he repricoates from a stab wound. Then all the good stuff happens!

Before the good stuff happens we see Sutton going for lunch at Rachel and Cash’s house and we see Rachel forgive her and I find it interesting how Cash tries to get her to tell him why didn’t defend herself against the rumours that went round about them fucking when they went to prom. Even though it wasn’t true. Cash soon figures out he was used as a method for her to leave Tate. I love that Cash was bothered about her reputation more than she was.

As much as Sutton’s father is a jackass it did surprise me that he pulled in Tate (after dismissing Lyle’s case) for help in getting Sutton to talk to him and her mum.

I love Tate’s reaction to Sutton’s sassiness and how much it also turns him on amuses me. I love that Sutton isn’t afraid to stand up to Tate, Greer or Dustin.

Oh my god when I read the bit about Tate and the notches on his shotgun for people he slept with it made me really want to smack him in the head with the same gun. I love how angry and disgusted Sutton is about it and then when she finds out about Dustin doing it too she is furious and scolds him it is one of my favourite scenes.

So whilst Tate and Sutton are hiding out we get to learn more about Sutton’s abuse and her daughter dying I was nearly in tears as Sutton was telling tate how she watched and held her daughter as she died and god it broke my heart destroyed me.

I love Tate and Sutton’s relationship once she finally forgives him we realise there has been a few times when Sutton came back for Tate and then Tate went back for Sutton but they didn’t get each other and honestly how much they both had missed each other slightly. I love my babies together they are so cute and I love the chemistry between them.

Sutton’s dad is a wanker threatening her with Tate that he would lose custody of his brothers and sister. I think what makes this even more that although Sutton hates her parents by the end of the book Tate convinces her to give them another chance and that makes me love Tate even more.

It kills me how much the Porter brothers fight with each other and yet love each other just as much. I suppose that’s siblings for you and oh my god at the end when they have to deal with the cops when Jared tries to kill Cheryl and Sutton and to stop Greer from talking Tate just hits him in the head with the gun to knock him down. So funny one of my favourite scenes.

Also another favourite is when Knox catches Sutton and Tate having sex at Lookout Point. So funny.

I also thought that the Porter gifts were very interesting with Rachel healing and then we learn that Tate hears death bells and I find that really interesting and we see that it has such an effect on him.

I’m glad these two have their happy ending they so deserve it. I love them so much!
