What happens when the biggest blizzard of the year hits and you’re trapped in a cabin with your best friend’s brother? You take every opportunity to spend time together and make him fall in love with you.

The Best of Us is a best friend’s brother, opposites attract, and snowed-in together standalone romance.

I’d like to thank Wildfire Marketing Solutions for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated. So I read the first book in this series which is The Two of Us and I fell in love with that story and I have been highly anticipating the continuation of this series and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Kennedy Fox has certainly become a favourite of mine and as time goes on I do plan to get through their whole backlist because I am obsessed with their writing. Like I am in love with it, the characters, the plot and the world they manage to create is just amazing and perfect.

So The Best of Us is very interesting due to the fact it is set in the future a world post pandemic and it was really nice to read and I really like how the authors wrote this and that they didn’t just sweep a pandemic under either it had lasting effects for everyone especially Ryan who if you haven’t read the first book was a doctor and was right in the middle of treating patients.

So Ryan is assumed to have PTSD as well as straggling with his own mental health and overworking which is brought up numerous times in the novel, he’s very closed off and has his walls up high that is until Kendall forces them down.

Kendall you think is the spoilt rich princess but she is not, she fights that stereotype and she makes sure Ryan corrects his way of thinking about her. She is selfless and honestly I love her, the amount of time she does stuff just to help people is so sweet and I love that in the end it’s what Kendall and Ryan begin to bond with.

When Ryan and Kendall arrive at the cabin he is an ass and eventually Kendall makes sure he stops and honesty I loved their interactions. The fighting and insults that turned into sexual tension and radiated off the page. Like the sexual chemistry between Kendall and Ryan was suffocating. The amount of times I was thinking just bang already guys. But they did not disappoint. There’s so many moments between these two that although are cute and romantic are also funny and I just loved the bonding time. The cosmo questions, the games, monopoly it just made me smile and I like that we had those normal moments.

A few memorable quotes:

“Tell her we fucked on the couch last night.”

Honestly I could not stop laughing when I read that I full on wasn’t expecting Kendall to say but honestly I was laughing. Then as soon as that line is said we switch to Ryan’s point of view and his reaction is even funnier. Kendall had so many cracker lines in this and another one is:

“Prostutiting for monopoly money”

Honestly I was not let down with some of these lines.

The sex was written amazing like some of those scenes were hot, sexy, spicy and definitely a turn on! The writing is so good and the scenes are just on point.

I love supportive Cami. I also love that we got to see Cami and Eli in this not just that but their wedding too I loved it. So cute. I also love that Cami was rooting for Ryan and Kendall to be together.

Honestly Ryan is swoon worthy boyfriend material, he is so adorable and may be my new favourite book boyfriend. It was perfect just the way Kendall and Ryan are together it’s amazing. I want a relationship like that.

So the ending of this book has got me real excited for the next book which is based on Piper, Kendall’s sister and her bodyguard Tristan and honestly I’m very excited and I cannot wait to read it!

What do you do when the entire nation is on lockdown?

If you’re an heiress to a billion-dollar fashion company, then you quarantine in a glamorous cabin and finish your final semester of NYU online. The best way to focus on her upcoming valedictorian honor is away from her family, classmates, and the paparazzi. Cameron St. James is ready to get out of the big city and head Upstate for seclusion, despite her parents’ pleas to stay home.

What do you do when a pandemic is sweeping the world?

If you’re barely making ends meet, then you isolate yourself in your best friend’s mountain cabin with breathtaking views and no neighbors for miles. It’s the perfect safe place away from three roommates who don’t take the life-threatening epidemic seriously. Elijah Ross is ready to work remotely and focus on his next big promotion, assuming he’ll still have a job after this.

What happens when things don’t go as planned, and you’re stuck with the one person you dislike the most?

You improvise and do whatever it takes to avoid each other, though it proves to be impossible. The cold evenings alone turn into movie and popcorn nights together by the fireplace. Days turn into weeks, and eventually, more than just a friendship blossoms. As the unknown haunts them, they lean on one another for comfort—until someone pops their safety bubble and threatens everything.

The Two of Us is an enemies to lovers, brother’s best friend standalone romance set in the current affairs of history in the making. Though the character’s storyline is fiction, the circumstances are very real, and we’re sensitive to this topic. This is a story about hope, love, and so much more with a guaranteed happily ever after.

So I would like to thank Wildfare Marketing Solutions for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated. So I love Lyra Parish who is one half of this brilliant duo and since she announced these books on her youtube channel I was like yeah I need to read me some of them. So here we are. I loved this. I’ve been in a bit of a book slump this month and oh my god it’s so helped reading this.

So first thing first obviously it is set right now when we are in the pandemic and for many of us still stuck in lockdown and qaurentine I thought the authors nailed the feeling of everything perfectly. They were very respectable to the whole situation that is happening around us and I thought they portrayed it really well in the book. Although I suppose anyone would be happy to fall in love with a hot man in isolation.

Cameron I really loved her character she was so sassy and down to earth. I loved that during this we got to see her trying to cook and clean and do all the normal stuff that she couldn’t do and that she was willing to learn it and do it. I thought it was funny she was learning to cook off Tik Tok videos. She definitely let Elijah get on her nerves way too much and bit back so much at him and I loved it!

Elijah was really sweet, hot and adorably cute. He has been in love with Cameron forever and it’s so obvious with everything he does in this book and right from the moment these two were in the cabin together I was thinking yeah this is going to be entertaining and it was. I laughed out loud quite a bit through reading this and it was what I needed.

I loved the chemistry between Cameron and Elijah and oh my god the sexual chemistry between these two were off the charts! I don’t know which one of them write the sex scenes but damn they were hot and honestly nailed it!

I really liked Ryan’s character and we sort of got a feel of what some of the doctors have to deal with through the pandemic and again it was captured so well and for many countries explain the PPE shortage. I really came to love Ryan especially checking on Elijah and Cameron when they both had symptoms like even after 36 hour shifts and still checking on them. I loved him. Also I love the fact that Ryan sneakily planned for Elijah and Cameron to be at the cabin at the same time and he knew Elijah loved his sister and was playing matchmaker I just love that for him.

Kendall I loved her character for the small bit we got to see her and how much she was shipping Cameron and Elijah getting together and then like a good friend wanted to know all the gossip.

I fell in love with this book I loved the writing and it kept me hooked and interested in the story and I actually can’t wait for the second book in this series because I will definetely be reading it. I felt the characters were really good and established even the side characters were very well established for the small parts that they played in this book.
