Respectable Riot – Karen Renee

She has it all, but she still has nothing.
Married to a local politician, Jane Ramos-Palmer won’t put her dreams aside for her husband’s any longer. Overhearing her husband being blackmailed, Janie realizes nothing in her life is as it seems. She’s willing to ditch all she has, so she can gain everything she ever wanted.

His world was wrenched cruelly away from him. David “Beast” Huntley’s trust has been violated, and being twice shy means he’s determined not to get involved with another woman. At least not seriously, and not any time soon. But Janie provokes something in him. His attraction to her gnaws at him, even though she’s mired in an ugly divorce with a sketchy politician. Staying away from her is in his best interest and his club’s.

When the president of rival MC blindsides and assaults Janie, Beast’s inner-beast is awakened. He cannot fight his attraction for her, no matter how wrong it might be.

I’d like to thank Enticing Journey for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated. So this is book 5 in the series I loved Unforeseen RiotInciting a Riot and Into the Riot. I have to say Calming The Riot really disappointed me, thankfully Foolish Riot pulled it back up to me so I was really unsure where this one would fall and thankfully it fell on the side of I loved it!

So I feel like compared to the other books in the series this one was a little different at least I felt it was. It followed Janie as she is filing for divorce from her husband who was a total jackass. Within the first few pages of this book I began to rant on notes ready for this review. Along the way she meets Beast (Liar’s cousin) and things begin to happen!

Janie was a very interesting character we see her go on a journey from when she was a tad repressed and not happy in her marriage to being free and doing what she wanted to do. Like eating processed meat. I really enjoyed the transformation and the fighting spirit she got and also the sassy that came with it. I think the biggest change we see in her that is from the moment she knew she was pregnant before she lost the baby she wanted the baby yet before the pregnancy she didn’t want kids. I think that says a lot about her the fact she didn’t want kids and then as soon as she was pregnant her whole view changed.

Beast I loved him. We know his story almost immediately he’s running away from his last city to get away from a women and a little toddler Katherine, he had to move as once he found out that Katherine was not his daughter he was destroyed. All the way through this novel you could feel how much it killed him being away from Katherine and he just wanted the best and that would be to bond with her real father. This made Beast like fly to the top of the best men list. I loved how he created so many nicknames for Janie. My favourite one being Clumsy.

I really loved the chemistry between Beast and Janie it was off the charts and I loved the sexual tension between them when they finally did have sex then they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. I loved their relationship.

One of my favourite scenes has to be when Janie finds out his real name and begins to call him David the shock on his face was just hilarious and the fact he soon figures out if it was Liar or Andrea that told her. I loved that scene it was just so playful and cute.

Trent (the soon-to-be ex-husband) was an absolute asshole. Blaming Janie for getting pregnant, telling her to have an abortion and then when she does miscarry the baby he then begins to say he’s happy that she lost the baby. He was horrendous. I don’t think I’ve disliked a character as much as this one in a while. The way he treated Janie was disgusting. And who on earth tries to have sex with their wife as she has served him divorce papers? Like it honestly boggled my mind.

I really liked the plot although obviously a very real thing that could happen you know a corrupt politician. I thought some of it was a little unnecessary like Devin’s brother trying to shoot them. That could have been without but other than that I really enjoyed the other aspects of the plot.

Foolish Riot – Karen Renee

Patricka “Trixie” Baker grew up being used and abused. The night she met her “knight in a leather cut,” she dedicated herself to infiltrating his life. For ten years, all she’s wanted is to be Roll’s property more than anything. Anything. She’s a fixture in the Riot MC, but not part of the family. She never cared what anyone thought of her, but she refuses to be anyone’s fool. With determination to change, and Roll’s inability to commit, she won’t waste any more of her youth on him.
Homer “Roll” Rolland has two secrets; one he knows will hold Trixie back and limit her life. He’s wanted her in his bed since the first time he laid eyes on her, but holding her back is the last thing he wants to do to the woman he loves. When his other secret leads to Trixie being brutally attacked by a rival MC, Roll is forced to make a decision.
Trixie wants to be Roll’s property. Roll’s secrets hold him back from her. Will they find a way to stay together?

I’d like to thank Enticing Journey for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated. So this is book 5 in the series I loved Unforeseen RiotInciting a Riot and Into the Riot. I have to say Calming The Riot really disappointed me so I was a little will I won’t I with this book and I am happy to say I did like this book!

So I loved seeing Roll and Trixie in the other books so I was so happy when I knew they were getting their own book especially because they were so all over the place in the other books that the story was just so interesting to me! These two were breaking my heart all the way through the story, the pushing each other away and hurting each other without even knowing it. I love that he’s annoying her to death and he needed to nearly lose her to fix up and realise that he did love her.

I had to admit when Trixie got attacked Roll’s reaction was the best just because of how angry he was. I loved how protective he was with Trixie. My heart breaks for Trixie the pain that she feels in regards to her feelings for Roll or even what her uncle did to her. My heart breaks for her.

I felt like this book had touched a subject that I haven’t seen in a long time and that it was to do with infertility but not on the woman’s part but on the man’s part. Roll did a lot of pushing away for Trixie because he knew that she wanted to have kids and knowing he couldn’t give it to her. I just liked that we saw how much it affected him and that he refused to let himself be happy because of this issue.

Although Trixie convinces him to get a 2nd opinion as you know it’s not always a 100% although it never said what caused the infertility but it turns out the second opinion happened and then Trixie turns up pregnant. So although for the most part it’s not always a happy ending sometimes it is.

The plot was very intense with H attacking Trixie everything spun out of control that started a war between the MCs. I also loved how we saw the different men from the other Riot chapter. I also loved that they were all so willing to protect Trixie and they knew that Trixie and Roll really liked each other.

Got to admit I liked Roll’s version of punishment when something happened with his niece (you will know if you read it). I love Roll’s relationship with his mother who had a stroke and we got to see the side effect that had on a family. Also loved the relationship Roll had with his niece it was so cute and sweet and I loved how bossy she was with him.

I really enjoyed the plot, story and characters and I really can’t wait to read the next one!

Calming The Riot – Karen Renee

Jim “Liar” Huntley’s loyalty to the Riot MC brotherhood is unquestionable. Especially since before becoming a fully-patched member, he killed a man to protect a brother. When a favor to another brother forces him to meet Andrea Paglia, he knows she’s out of his league. Making matters worse, she is off-limits because she’s old friends with the President’s old lady. Weeks later, Liar notices his brothers ogling Andrea at a club party, and he cannot restrain his anger.
Andrea falls in lust with Liar the moment he walks into her massage studio. She senses Liar restraining himself around her, but she’s determined to go after the man she wants. For once, she grabs what she wants from life. Conflict arises when former co-workers implore her to lend them a hand during the holidays. Forced to tell Liar about her past, she uncovers another facet to her alpha biker.
Little does Andrea know, she’s being used as a pawn in a larger scheme to bring down the Riot MC. Liar believes Andrea deceived him and will not be betrayed twice. The perceived deception tears Liar and Andrea apart while also forcing a rift between the Riot MC brothers.
Liar discovers he was wrong, and struggles between guarding his heart and asserting his love for her. Will he be able to claim her as his own?

So I read the first three books from this series, Unforeseen Riot, Inciting a Riot and Into the Riot. I loved all three of them books and had very high expectations for this book. I was sorely let down when it came to this book.

Liar we found out a little more about him in this book we see him with his family which I really like. But also with this book my opinion changed he was an asshole and not one of those where it’s cute asshole. He was a proper asshole and annoyed me. The way he treated Andrea at times were just not okay with me especially when they have a break up I just didn’t like it. I wasn’t that interested and I can’t put my finger on why.

I feel like I know nothing about Andrea other than she was friends with Jackie, we don’t get to know much else if anything about her past or her family. We knew her job and that she had a stalker. Other than that we knew nothing.

This book honestly just made me fall in love with Roll that little bit more and I really want to read his book, the fact he was the only one who believed Andrea when it came to the shit that kicked off. So Roll is definetely my favourite person in this novel and I really can’t wait for the next book.

For the first 70% of this book it was a 1 star for me. It was only the ending that really changed my opinion on this book because that’s when all the feels came and hit me hard. Very hard. Andrea and Liar breaking up like the pain she felt and the heartbreak that hit me hard and it gave me the boost of emotion that I needed.

So the ending saved it for me. Very much so the ending saved it for me.

Into The Riot – Karen Renee

Tennille “Neil” Lyons has her hands full with Cecilia, her drug addicted sister who recently turned to prostitution to maintain her addiction. Having her sister commit to going to rehab feels like a stroke of luck, until the dealer/handler shows up making threats. While drowning her worries at a hole-in-the-wall bar, she meets a handsome biker. As much as she wants to dismiss him, she finds out he is rougher and tougher than any other man Neil has met before. Which may come in handy, because if Cecilia doesn’t pay her substantial debt, the dealer intends to collect from Neil instead.
Augustus “Razor” Richardson is prospecting with the Riot MC after being renounced from his old MC. He has a past and a reputation as a ladies’ man, but rarely does a woman so blithely give him the brush-off. He knows something is wrong, but she slips away before he can figure out how to help. When an unexpected phone call puts her back in touch, Razor will stop at nothing to protect Neil from harm. However, Razor’s past isn’t done with him yet. Can he prove to Neil that she can trust him before it’s too late?

So I read Unforeseen Riot and Inciting a Riot and loved them, I have really come to love this series. The writing is amazing and I love the whole family aspect this author has when it comes to writing this series. It’s one of the things that make this story so great.

I loved Neil she was a very interesting character, very different from our other previous main characters. I love how she is stubborn and determined and she admitted it too. I loved that. She was also very head strong and just wanted to protect everyone and I loved that about her. I also love the dirty mind she has.

Razor I loved him, I loved him in the first book and the second book and I am glad he got his own book because I love him. He’s a top notch man. He was so loyal and protective and I loved him. I also loved how we got to see the prospect side of the MC for a change. He was so bossy.

I loved Razor and Neil’s relationship. It sucked me straight into this book, the banter between them and I think what topped off my favourite thing about this book was that Neil outed Razor’s real name in front of everyone at the compound and that was really my favourite thing.

I love overprotective Volt especially when it comes to a pregnant Jackie. I loved how he get behind Razor and was willing to go to bat for him. I also love when he had to give Razor punishment for defying a direct order he went easy on him. I also loved that Volt knew Razor enough that he knew he’d need to lock him down.

I loved seeing the other characters, I loved seeing the Mallory and Cal wedding to see my babies getting a happy ending. I also thought it was amusing that Mallory was insistent on wing manning Razor when it came to Neil.

I love that Cal, Vamp and Volt all get a kick out of doing anything that might annoy Razor which amused me with no end.

We got to see Neil’s family during this considering a big part of the plot focused on getting her sister’s habit kicked which brought the shit into her life. I loved that Neil’s grandparents were bikers and they run a bar! I also loved that her mum knew about the MC life it was very interesting to read. I also thought it was amusing that her dad wasn’t so much of a fan of the biker life.

Bush was an absolute asshole.

I love that after all the shit kicked off the club did a vote and let Razor break into the leathernecks and steal his bike back. Neil’s reaction to his bike is hot.

Abby and Blood are the cutest little humans ever!

This story was amazing. I loved the tension in this story the plot kept me on the edge of my seat and I was gripped. I could not put this book down at all. The plot kept me hooked all the way through, I had no idea where it was going to lead me throughout. The characters were amazing and I loved each and every one of them, I love seeing this little family that’s been built throughout the series.

Inciting A Riot – Karen Renee

40281835
Cary “Vamp” Sullivan earned his Riot MC patch and shoved Lorraine Francis Ingram out of his life six years ago by cheating on her. He’s regretted it ever since because he knew she was a top-notch woman. After mentioning his regrets to his brother, Cal, Vamp suddenly finds himself faced with an opportunity to win Lorraine back. When he runs into her unexpectedly and finds out she has been beaten at the hands of a man, Vamp and his Riot MC Brothers are determined to protect her. Vamp is determined to get her back in his life, and he knows it’s going to be an uphill battle.
Lorraine insists that if any Riot MC Brother is going to protect her, it cannot be Vamp. She gets no promises from the Riot MC, and she finds herself with Vamp at her doorstep. She’s determined there will be no second chances, but her resolve is weakened because Vamp isn’t playing fair, he’s fighting…fighting to win her over.
Once she and Vamp are reunited again, they realize there is a very real threat to them both. Lorraine and Vamp are put to the test to rekindle their long lost love and stay alive.

So I read the first book Unforeseen Riot and I really enjoyed that book so I of course I got hooked and started reading the next book which is Vamp’s book and I was very excited for this one because I fell in love with Vamp when he was in the first book.

Vamp was a great character in the first book he a little epiphany about no longer sleeping with random women he wanted the woman he loved who left him. I really liked how stubborn and kind of bossy he was especially as Lorraine defied him almost at every turn. He was a loyal man and especially loyal to his family, Lorraine and his MC.

Lorraine although sometimes referred to as Frankie or Lainey she has quite a few nicknames through this book by various different people. Lorraine goes on a journey from the moment she starts this book especially as the Mark situation escalated. I really liked her character and that she defied Vamp at every possible chance but also she was willing to give him a second chance.

I really liked seeing all the other characters from the other books, I especially loved Mallory and Lorraine talking, especially because we have two different sides. Mallory who knows nothing about the MC and then Lorraine who knows a lot about the motorcycle world because she was there during Vamp’s prospect years. I liked that we got the differentiate between both of these women.

I loved seeing Mallory, Jackie, Natasha, Volt and Cal all over again. It was so nice having them appear again in the novel.

I also loved the connection between Volt and Lorraine although as she calls him Henry, it was so weird seeing his actual name other than his road name. But I loved the connection there and he was very protective over her and supportive of her and Vamp. I also thought it was amusing that he gave a little leeway to telling Lorraine stuff that happened in church only because it involved her, but it was amusing to see how far she would push.

I love how “kiss into submission” has passed into this novel and that Vamp was using it on Lorraine one of my favourite things.

Roxanne I loved her, she was very supportive of Lorraine when it came to her job and she was a very good boss and I loved that.

We saw another appearance from Razor and I loved him, but I also felt so sorry for him especially as he was dumped by his club but I love that he’s also a prospect at Riot MC.

I really liked the plot of this novel, it was very interesting. The whole Mark situation was crazy it went from her breaking it off to him beating her and then it just went crazy from there. I don’t want to go too far into the plot. But this book sent me into a twist and spin and I loved it.

I am also hoping that there will be a Trixie novel coming soon because I am interested in her story and Roll’s too unless it’s going to be unfolding through the other books. Either way I’m invested.

I really loved the whole family aspect in this, I love how the MC are so close and willing to do anything for each other.

Hypnotized by his azure eyes, it wasn’t until he smiled that I realized I was leaning into him with my hand still clenched his shirt. I tried to lean back, but he wrapped an arm around my neck and the other around my waist. “Oh no, you don’t. Not quite yet. Wanna feel your softness up against me a little longer.”
I sighed through my nose. “Nice as that sounds, it’s not a good idea.”
A roguish grin lit his face. “Good ideas are rarely as fun as the bad ones.”
“Always an answer for everything.”
“Far from it,” he said.
His head lowered, lips brushing mine then settling in as he angled my head where he wanted me. This kiss was gentler but no less passionate. My breasts swelled and my whole chest warmed because his actions told me he would be this good or better in bed. I yearned to drive my hand into his hair. That urge shook me out of the moment and I wrenched my lips free.
“Dammit!” I hissed.
He chuckled. “Gotta say, that’s a step up from ‘God damn it!’ Maybe if I kiss you three more times I’ll get your true response.”
“No,” I cried. “No more kissing!”
“Then no more drinking.”
“What?” I asked trying to break out of his hold.
“You had two drinks right? Time for you to go back to your palace.”
“My palace?”
“What it’s called. Big sign out front, babe.”
“Aren’t you observant,” I said and nearly stumbled backward because Beast finally loosened his grip against my trying to step back from him.
His hands shot to my shoulders. “Are you steady? Or did you sneak a shot in there with the wine?”
“No! I know better than that. I just didn’t expect you to finally let go of me.”
He gave me a strange look along with an eyebrow arch.
I steadied myself and stepped around him. “Lucky for you, I need to get to the other side of the river. I hope you have a nice evening, Beast.”

Permanently

This book! I really enjoyed this book I am loving MC books at the minute and I am very much hooked with these kind of books!

It took me a little while to get into this story and I think it was just because of the writing. I really did enjoy the writing once I got into it. The plot was good, I really enjoyed it, and the drama was real through this. By like halfway I was like damn what can this book throw at me next. It kept throwing. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this novel. This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it.

Mallory. I felt so bad for her loosing her son and husband I saw how heartbreaking that was for her. I really liked that Cal made her bring back her fiery attitude especially after mourning. She can be really feisty and I love that she refuses to back down at times.

Cal he was an interesting character also very macho male which amused me. I loved how protective he was of Mallory and yet took care of her at the same time it was so nice. He was also the sergeant in arms in the MC so really strong and I loved how he took care of stuff.

Gwen. I hated her. From the moment she was introduced into this book I hated her. The way she used the death of her son against Mallory really annoyed me and all she wanted was money. Not even thinking about how Mallory feels having to move on without her son and husband in her life, she just didn’t help with that process at all and in fact held back if anything.

I loved Natasha she was the best friend anyone could ask for she was there to support Mallory and she was always there to ease her guilt when it came to moving on and I loved that. She was a great character and I loved that she was there when Mallory needed a pick me up.

I also really enjoyed Quinton, James, Bobby and Ray being there to support her through it, I loved the support group she had with them.

Vamp and the two twins hitting on Mallory was hilarious and one of my favourite scenes, especially as we saw how protective Cal was with her. Which Cal and Mallory on a whole I love, they were so hilarious and I loved them as a couple.

Volt. I loved him. He was honestly so sweet he is the president of the MC and easing her guilt. I loved that. I also loved his “old lady” Jackie she was hilarious and I loved the bond that these built a bond.

I really like Razor’s character although he’s from a different MC I actually loved his character he was hilarious.

I really loved this story and how the plot came out, but I also think that to actually like this novel and these types of stories you have to just accept that they have oldish traditions when it comes to the MCs and their women. But I really enjoyed the story, characters and plot!

The doorbell rang again, and I caught sight of the clock. Thirty-one minutes after the hour? Crap! That had to be Liar and Andrea. I scrambled out of bed and unlocked the door, not registering that there was only one male body on the other side of the glass.

My eyes widened because I was stunned to see Beast standing on the other side of the door. His hair was damp from a shower, and he was sexy as hell.

“Christ,” he breathed.

“What?”

“You.”

“Me?” I touched my face because he was looking at me funny. “Is there something on my face? Dried drool or something?”

He chuckled. “Guess I’ll tell you, ‘cause unlike other bitches this won’t go to your head.” He paused while I frowned at him calling me a bitch. “You’re perfect. All put-together, just shy of Stepford put-together.”

“Just to let you know, this is about to go to my head and make it explode because me and Stepford in the same sentence is never a good thing.”

“Yeah, but with you, there’s warmth, and then first thing in the morning you have porn hair.”

“What?” I shouted.

“Babe, it’s a good thing.” He grabbed my hand and put it on his crotch. “A really good thing since it makes me this hard for you.”

I was never going to bed with wet hair ever again. Ever.

His eyes grew warm as he smiled. “You aren’t struggling.”

My eyebrows furrowed and he thrust his hips, forcing my hand to stroke him over his cargo pants.

“What do you mean?”

“You’re not trying to jerk your hand away. Does that mean you want to jerk me off?”

My God! He was right. Any other girl would struggle against a man putting her hand on his cock. Well, probably, I mean this was Beast. He wasn’t any man.

Now I was getting turned on. And that realization made me yank my hand away.

“Fuck. I hate that you’re married. Don’t know if your man is fighting to keep you, but now I see he’s damn sure got good reason to put up a fight.”

My eyes narrowed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. He’s an asshole and only wants to keep up appearances.”

He openly eye-fucked me, and damn my body, I shivered, complete with my nipples puckering. “You were in my bed I’d fight. ’Course, if you were mine I wouldn’t give you reason to leave. Hell, what I’d give you, it’d be a miracle if you could walk, let alone walk away.”

Two doors slamming from the driveway broke the moment. “Shit! I’m not even dressed. You let Liar and Andrea in while I get some clothes on.”

A shit-eating grin spread on his face. “You’re right. I was too focused on your hair. Hot nightie. I could tell them to come back in an hour.”

I shook my head. “Don’t be an ass. No way am I giving Trent more leverage against me.”

“I’d be the one with the leverage, believe me.”

My eyes bulged. “No offense, but that would only complicate things. It’s not like there’s something between us.”

His face was stony. “Fun is never complicated in my world.”

My face relaxed as melancholy rolled through me. “I don’t live in your world.”

I suspected his regretful expression mirrored mine. “You’re right. You don’t.”

It was probably my imagination, but I would’ve sworn he cut himself off before he could say, “yet.”
