Campus Player – Jennifer Sucevic

From USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Sucevic comes a sexy, new standalone novel.
Trust me when I say that Rowan Michaels fever is alive and well at Western University. His fanbase is legendary. The guy is a major player.
Both on and off the field.
Girls fall all over themselves to be with him. They fill the stands at football practice, show up at parties he’s rumored to be at, and basically stalk him around campus.
It’s a little nauseating.
Don’t these girls have any self-respect when it comes to a hot guy?
Fine…I’ll admit it, he’s good looking. If you’re into that kind of thing. Which I’m not. I’ve got school and soccer to keep me busy which is exactly why I avoid him like an unfortunate clap diagnosis.
Too bad for me that Rowan is my father’s star quarterback. He’s practically part of the family, attending Wednesday night dinners with us. To make matters worse, we’re in the same major and get stuck together in classes every semester. It’s like the universe is trying to play a cosmic joke on me. The one guy I’d like to steer clear of is the very same one I can’t seem to get away from.
But what if Rowan isn’t the manwhore I pegged him to be?
What if one little secret has the capability to change everything between us?

*This is a mature New Adult novel with strong language and sexual situations intended for readers over the age of 18*

I’d like to thank Wildfire Marketing Solutions for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated. So I love me New adult books and sports and college romances they are some of my favourite books to read and this was not a disappointment. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I will be reading more from this author because I really enjoyed her writing.

Rowan is known as the Campus Player gets labelled the player, the man whore and just generally a jackass for how he treats woman. Rowan is anything but, he’s sweet, he’s kind, he pays attention to Demi and he soon lets her know just how much he’s not like every other jackass that she’s dated.

Demi has dated her fair share of jackasses when her latest boyfriend cheats on her with her teammate she decides she’s had enough of sport players. Tarring them all with the same brush including Rowan until she discovers he’s nothing like the others. She’s sassy, really stubborn and is really committed to her sport which I loved.

I really liked that although Rowan was in football we also saw that Demi played soccer and was equally committed and I applaud the author giving both of these sports the same amount of page time and that we see Rowan supporting Demi too. I really liked that.

Demi’s dad, Coach. The man was my favourite character through this book, he’s the real MVP. Honestly not only is he a great dad to Demi he takes on Rowan and supports him as much as possible. Even when Demi and Rowan begins dating he’s supportive and when Rowan has a certain problems the Coach is straight there without even asking and honestly I just loved him. He’s the best.

Annica is a dickhead I was with Sydney when she said karma got her good. I was glad when Annica got her karma. I loved Sydney she’s the best friend anyone could ask for the way she was willing to support Demi no matter what I loved it. (Also are we going to get a Sydney story because she laid the seeds with her good.)

There is a moment in this book where we are dropped a bomb and I can’t say what it is because spoilers but I was shocked. I didn’t see it coming. I think my only wish with this is that it wasn’t used as it was and also that we had more focus and unsureness when it came to it. If you’ve read it you’ll know what I mean but we had a little bit of unsureness but other than that I kind of wish there was more of it.

The chemistry between Demi and Rowan so many times through this book they give me legit chills and honestly I loved when Demi started realising Rowan wasn’t a dickhead. I liked their relationship and also the supportiveness through college and each of their sports. My heart melted so much whenever these two were together and I loved their relationship. So cute.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters and the writing and I will definitely be reading more from this author.
