Clockwork Princess – Cassandra Clare

Danger and betrayal, love and loss, secrets and enchantment are woven together in the breathtaking finale to the #1 New York Times bestselling Infernal Devices Trilogy, prequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series.
A net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. Mortmain plans to use his Infernal Devices, an army of pitiless automatons, to destroy the Shadowhunters. He needs only one last item to complete his plan: he needs Tessa Gray.
Charlotte Branwell, head of the London Institute, is desperate to find Mortmain before he strikes. But when Mortmain abducts Tessa, the boys who lay equal claim to her heart, Jem and Will, will do anything to save her. For though Tessa and Jem are now engaged, Will is as much in love with her as ever.
As those who love Tessa rally to rescue her from Mortmain’s clutches, Tessa realizes that the only person who can save her is herself. But can a single girl, even one who can command the power of angels, face down an entire army?
Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment, and the tangled threads of love and loss intertwine as the Shadowhunters are pushed to the very brink of destruction in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy

So I loved the plot again it was great for the 3rd book, before I do go into it, people said City of Heavenly Fire has a spoiler in for Clockwork Princess and yes there is but I didn’t even realise until I read Clockwork Princess. Like I didn’t even realise that Jem became a silent brother, I know they went by Zachiary (if that’s how you spell it) so when it did happen I was still shocked. I was like the fuck! Like he died! Will felt that bitch die. Well obviously he isn’t dead because he’s a silent brother. The bit with Tessa kind of broke my heart where he had to sever ties but then he promised to meet her on the bridge every year for an hour. That was beautiful. Gabriel coming to the institute

Gabriel coming to the institute that was shocking for him to actual turn up but Will loved that he was coming about Demon Pox I think that was one of my favourite things in this book Will always being excited about demon pox and winding them all up about it, that was one of the light humour in this book and I loved it. Just it made me chuckle whenever it mentioned. And Will being Will of course took the opportunity to wind up Gabriel about it.

Jem uses up all his demon drug supply and he obviously worsens and then there is no supply left because the evil man (not even attempting to spell that and the book is upstairs) so when Will flips out at him with good reason but then you can’t also fault Jem’s reasoning that he just wants to just live fully and not a half life. So when bad guy offers him the supply for Tessa. Bravo Jem for destroying that shit bravo. I totally agree with your choice to do that! Bad Will (ish) for getting it back out.

It was a brilliant love triangle, I didn’t have a favourite like I usually do, I just wanted her to be with both and of course she is! She gets to be with both! Obviously after Jem becomes a silent brother he can no longer be with Tessa. One thing before I carry on, when Tessa realises Jem is dead her and Will slept together straight away, like I understand they love each other and she loved Jem too, I wondered if a part of it was just mourning or that she knew they could be together at that point. I was a little like what to that, but I was still like yes! They got together! I thought it was cute that Will thought she might regret it. But Will and her get together and marry and live happily ever after until you know he dies. Then she gets to be with Jem once he leaves the Silent Brothers. AHHH so cute i was so happy when that happened. She got to be with both of her two true loves and they were both beautiful and it was amazing.

I loved the way Gideon tried to propose to Sophie first by telling everyone then that stunned moment where she’s like what. Haha it was brilliant and the fact that she was so shocked and oblivious to the fact how Gideon felt towards her. Hey Cassandra Clare, can we have a book on Gideon and Sophie? I would love it and the fact she becomes a shadowhunter too is amazing. I love them both they are my side characters, I love the side characters.

Cecily and Will, these two reminded me of Isabelle and Alec in Mortal instruments the sibling argument how much they disagreed on stuff and how they always wanted to protect each other. That is the only relation between them two sibling pair. Just thought I’d mention that in passing. Erm the fact Will tries so hard to get his sister to go home is quite funny. When they go to fight at the Lightwood’s house when Benedict has been turned into a jiant worm his fear for his sister but also I think a part of him is proud about what she did there and it was so nice I love their brother and sister relationship and the fact she just wanted to bring him home. She finally gets her wish at the end of the book when he goes home to introduce Tessa to their family and it was so nice. What also thought was amusing is the fact that although Will and Gabriel wind each other up that Cecily likes him, can anyone say annoying karma haha.

Charlotte and Henry I feel like these two make a lot of progress during this especially Henry with his inventions even if he did have a little help from Magnus. But it was wonderful to see that he was so happy for the portal working so I was happy. Also Charlotte on naming their baby yeah I would have said no to Henry’s suggestion too but she even put it in the middle name so happiness for both of them.

Jessie I feel like she needs a passing in mention obviously she dies in this book and although I hated her for teaming up with Nate. I was sad she died, I was surpised I felt something about the fact she died. Then she obviously tells Will what he needs to know but of course Cecily is the only one who gets it. Then at the end where her punishment is to guard the institute and she doesn’t seem so bothered about doing it. So it’s a nice change from her hating it so much.
