Blackmail – Anna James Watson

Mia Winters was a perfectly normal junior at Yale University. Until she accidentally witnessed a secret lover’s rendezvous. Now, blackmailed into silence, a sexual hunger has awoken inside of her, and there’s only one way to satiate it–but she’s not sure she wants to. Of course, Julian Roth, her gorgeous and brilliant T.A., and Tristan Masters, her equally gorgeous but loathsome classmate, may not give her a choice. The closer she gets to them, the more she is drawn into the world of old money, family dynasties, and secret societies–all worlds she never intended to discover. Will she let herself go down the proverbial rabbit hole or will her better judgement win out in the war between what her brain thinks and what her body craves?

This work of fiction is erotica, meaning that sexual encounters are descriptively explicit and extensive. This novel features a “MMF” relationship, meaning two men and one women are all involved in a three-way sexual relationship. Content is inappropriate for non-adults.

I’ve really been umming and arring about what to rate this because I feel so conflicted. Let’s start the philosophy parts in this novel went straight over my head I did not understand them at all. When it was ever discussed it was more skim read because I didn’t understand it. Like I couldn’t even pretend to understand what they were talking about and I think it took away from the novel as someone who didn’t understand it.

Take out the philosophy part of the novel and it would be a great book but I did have some problems with it, I really didn’t feel like we got to know the characters really well like we knew them enough but I really wanted to know more about them as characters.

When I was reading this all I cared about was the romance between Mia, Julian and Tristan, I really liked the dynamic of the three of them and it was nice to see how they worked separately too, so like Julian and Tristan, or Mia and Tristan, or Mia and Julian I really liked seeing that! And when they were together they worked too! Each of them worked great as a couple and they were on fire as a threesome.

The sex was hot. The sex in this story was written great it didn’t feel awkward or anything it sweeps you straight into it. I love how the feelings did develop for each of them and when they kind of worked it out! One of my favourite parts.

Also, the actual blackmail in this story makes absolutely no sense to me but I liked it, didn’t make sense but it was still good.

I really enjoyed this novel, all though the characters were at times annoying at times I really wanted to slap Tristan because it felt like he was holding back at times, which made Julian and Mia held back slightly.

I can’t wait to read what happens next with these, the story ended on a cliffhanger and I do want to find out what happens next!
