Geo knows he’s right on the cusp of writing success with the chance to have his own syndicated column. All he has to do is follow his agent’s ideas for showcasing different dating avenues, and he’ll pull in enough to help his sister’s non-profit women’s shelter get off the ground. Sure, his itinerary is starting to look strangely similar to his old rival Penny’s, but all’s fair in love and syndication, right?
The more they look for love in all the wrong places, though, the more they start to wonder if it was right in front of their noses all along. Still, the brutal dating scene just might end them, if these two don’t kill each other first.
I’d like to thank Netgalley and Entangled publishing for allowing me access to the e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated.
So I really liked this, I wasn’t wowed by it at all, it was just okay. It was a cute romance like there was nothing wrong with it, just didn’t blow me away. It got me out of a reading slump which was good, I really liked the plot of this book and it was very interesting. I loved the dynamic of Geo and Penny and with the dating and then finding love with each other. It was very cute, I loved how with this we got a thing involved of dating safely so you don’t put yourself in harm’s way or be put in a situation where you could be harmed. I really like that this had that involved.
Geo and Penny’s relationship was definitely enemies to lovers, they were both fiery personalities yet they clicked so well and were insanely perfect for each other and I loved how we got to see all aspects of their relationship.
Family is a big aspect in this novel, we have Penny’s relationships with her sisters, and then Geo’s with his sister and nephew. I loved the relationship Penny had with her sisters and how supportive they were of each other and how much they were in contact, you could see what those relationships meant to Penny. I loved Geo and his sister’s relationship, the way she makes him realise at the end what a stupid mistake he’s done and she finally tells him to start living for him and not for her and making decisions based on helping her with her charity, and to stop him feeling guilty. I just love the relationship. Also seeing Geo play with his little nephew is the most cutest thing and honestly I live for any book that has some kind of relationship and bond with children because it’s so cute.
So overall, I liked the plot and the story and the characters it just didn’t wow me. I liked the author’s style of writing, definitely enjoyed the dual pov that was given in the book.
