“Here, take this, you need it.”
Those words used to mean something different to Adeline Morgan.
Once upon a time, they preceded her next high.
Now they had a deeper meaning, they were the sacred code of a whisper network of women.
Women who’d been helped by The Iron Ladies.
The wives of controlling husbands.
The partners of cheating men.
The lovers of playboys leading secret lives.
As an Iron Lady, Adeline helped them all.
And she loved every minute of it.
And with each case Adeline grew jaded.
Every man had the potential to break hearts and destroy lives.
Until she met the one determined to prove her wrong.
He didn’t want to break her heart…he wanted to steal it.
I’d like to thank L. Woods PR for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated, if you have followed this blog for a while you will know that this is not the first book I have read by Danielle Norman. I have read Enough, Almost, Impact, Often and Stetson and for the most part I have loved them all. I have high expectations whenever Danielle Norman releases a new book. I was not disappointed with this book!
I loved this book it screamed female empowerment from the moment it began, the book follows Adeline as she works with the Iron Ladies Melaine, Sunday and Olivia and I loved the relationship these four women had, it was such a strong friendship between them. I loved that they would be able to work together and still have that banter they could have. The women loved each other so much and you can tell how much they treasured the friendship they had. It was one of my favourite things in this book more so than the actual romance. So I figured that would be the first thing I mentioned.
I loved Adeline’s background in this story and how she came off drugs to the woman she was in this story. She was strong-minded and very blunt with the way she spoke and I actually loved it! She just wouldn’t take shit and I really loved that.
I loved Riley so much through this book he just wanted to annoy Adeline and it was so funny especially because she would bite back at him. I loved the fact that he was willing to do anything for his sister Loren, who was a client of the Iron Ladies, although he was worried at times I loved that he began to trust the ladies.
One of my favourite scenes in this book is when Adeline takes Riley around a race track, the funniest thing ever. I loved how Riley and Adeline’s relationship was built and progressed over time although I thought Adeline was stubborn and a little stupid at the time especially when she was basically afraid of her own fear when it came to their relationship which I could understand but also felt was slightly dumb.
The story is told in mostly two points of views which were Adeline and Riley, we also had the odd point of view from Loren. I loved having the multiple points of views it worked with the story and it did not feel out of sync at any time which is great!
Oh my god I loved Loren more and more through this book damn did she grow so balls it was bloody fabulous, how just stronger she became when dealing with her husband and I loved it so much.
The plot was great, the writing was amazing, and I loved the story so much. I really can’t wait to read more about these Iron Ladies!
