He knows how to score, on and off the ice
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.
It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
So I have read The Deal and The Mistake from Elle Kennedy and really enjoyed them, but I do have to say The Score is my favourite out of all 4 books. There’s just something about this book that I loved whether it was because Dean was a dick but hilarious all at the same time, or the relationship that Allie and Dean build.
Dean, he was a complex character which surprised me because in the other books he seems like just a man whore but he really was not. I love his motto in life to just live life like Dean did. I loved that he was chilled and tried to not let things bother him. I thought the person that Coach brought in was a right ass to Dean and how he didn’t react is beyond me. I loved that Dean was forced to volunteer at a junior hockey he was so cute when he came to helping the children. Dean was completely different than what I expected to be and I loved that.
Allie was interesting so many times through this she was referred to as a nester and it was the perfect description for Allie. I really enjoyed her development and Dean was a massive part of that development. Especially when it came to her feelings about the first time she had sex with Dean when she was trying to avoid her ex. This story does a good perception on the term slut or slag or whore and it basically says it’s okay to like sex and it be casual there is nothing wrong with that. I really like that Dean was telling her that because it’s how it should be. Women are allowed to enjoy sex. I loved her development in terms of that.
Allie and Dean fell in love way before they both realised and I loved that, I also loved that Dean was willing to drop everything at 2am and come and comfort her. It was my favourite part in the whole movie and I’m pretty sure they knew it in that moment. But I guessed it way before that happened.
Also, Winston, it’s fabulous. So funny. I love how Garret, Tucker and Logan all took the piss out of Dean when Allie was hiding in a certain scene. I loved it so much! So funny.
Beau that was heartbreaking.
I loved the fact that Dean was trying to fix all of his past mistakes after he and Allie had a little break due to something (this is me trying to not spoil things). He tried to fix all his past mistakes and I loved that.
This story was so cute and I fell in love with Allie and Dean and their relationship!
