Twisted Gift – Jessi Elliot

Being the new leader of the light fae really puts a dent in your post-grad plans.
Aurora, once a snarky business major, struggles to adjust to fae life—and the diet of human energy that comes with it. A change made worse by the overwhelming ability to feel the emotions of everyone around her, especially when she can barely manage her own.
Agreeing to work with her dark fae counterpart, Tristan, in an attempt to bring peace between their people is a painful reminder of how strong they are together. Even still, Aurora fights the urge to keep her distance. She needs to be sure what she feels for him is real, and not a result of the former light fae leader’s manipulation as a part of his plan to eliminate Tristan.
Aurora thought she’d encountered the worst thing since early morning lectures when she stumbled into the world of the fae. She’s about to find out that they may not be the most twisted creatures out there.

I’d like to thank Jessi Elliot for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated! I highly recommend that you do not read this review if you haven’t read Twisted Fate, otherwise, you are going to spoil yourself!

So we carry on two months after Twisted Fate finishes and you get a one-sentence recap at the start and that’s basically all you need for this story. It all comes rushing back and is very easy to remember. The writing is amazing, I feel like Jessi Elliot is improving with everything she writes and I am so proud of the journey she has come anyway on with the story. It was written very well, also the sex scenes were written very well! Just had to appreciate them for a moment!

Aurora I felt so bad for her at times especially having to learn to adjust to feeding on humans which she wasn’t comfortable. We still saw the sarcastic bossy sassy girl from the first book and I was so glad she was beginning to feel normal again. I loved despite all of the stuff going off with her she was willing to still help the fae become united. I just love her.

Tristan aww he was so worried about Aurora and wanting to help with her transition into the fae world. I loved the banter that him Aurora exchanged at times. He was such a fabulous character and I loved him.

Nikolai, I loved him, he had a heartbreaking backstory I don’t want to see what it was because of spoilers. But it was amazingly written and I loved how much he wanted to help Aurora. Also that he was willing to deal with Tristan and the other fae from his side. There were few interesting dynamics during this book and I loved Nikolai added into the mix.

I still loved Skyler and Max. Let’s not talk about him though. I am sad and heartbroken yet I am not going to go into that because spoilers. On another note compared to Twisted Fate I really liked Allison in this! So I take back everything I said in the Twisted Fate review about her.

There were so many twists and turns that I didn’t expect in this book, and by god, they just kept coming and still I was like what can happen next. I so want to talk about it but I don’t want to ruin it anymore. Let’s just say the plot was amazing and I did not see it coming how it happened. I loved the relationship between Aurora and Tristan as well as the other characters, it was fantastic and I truly cannot wait to read the next one!
