So the first wrap up of the year and I had a good month. I read 15 books this month which was good for me! I felt like I was back into reading and I actually had a great reading month including rereading some old favourites. My first read of the year was very disappointing and so was the second thankfully though we kept going up from then!

There’s a girl screaming at the top of a hill,
Burdened by a duty she was born to fulfill.
There’s a quiet killer lurking nearby,
Watching as she wishes only to die.
She’s tasked by her mother to marry a man,
Until the demon from hell puts a wrench in the plan.
Their fates will twine in inconceivable ways.
But where one goes, the other cannot stay.
How could she fall for such a man, you ask?
For the girl with no heart, it was the easiest task.
I really couldn’t get into this story from the moment I started I was confused all the way through, the plot didn’t grab me I couldn’t connect with any of the characters or even like the characters. I thought the interactions between Sol and Moira was interesting but beyond that I didn’t really care about the characters.
I’m sorry to say that this was a disappointment for me I am hoping the next one is better! (If you click on the title or the cover it’ll take you to my review)

As a starry-eyed child, I wanted to believe my shining prince would ride up on a white horse, present a diamond ring, and carry me away to his castle. His love would be endless and our lives would be the happily ever after all girls dreamed about. I never knew the fairytale was nothing more than a lie.
I was a good girl.
Until one night, one tiny trip, one little mistake, one moment of indiscretion.
When I fell down the rabbit hole, I stumbled into the absolute fantasy, succumbing to their whims and rituals. As their very naughty girl, I embraced the nightmare and refused to ever leave.
The Darkland is mine.
And those monsters will kneel before their one true Queen.
Madness is a dark romance/reverse harem story.
I really liked the nonsensical and it was written pretty well and I really enjoyed the story. I am curious to see what the next story in this collection brings.(If you click on the title or the cover it’ll take you to my review)

- Red Scrolls of Magic – Cassandra Clare

I loved this book so much and I did not see any of the twists and turns coming and I NEED MORE… I just want more…
I HAVE QUESTIONS
I need answers.
I loved Magnus and Alec.
I loved my Malec.
Just this was amazing.
I’m in love with this and I need more.
This also is just not that coherent other than me saying I love it.

- Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth’s magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires – the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa’s best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.
After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir’s Academy, a school for vampire royalty and their guardians-to-be, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. But inside the iron gates, life is even more fraught with danger . . . and the Strigoi are always close by.
Rose and Lissa must navigate their dangerous world, confront the temptations of forbidden love, and never once let their guard down, lest the evil undead make Lissa one of them forever . . .
Wow so this was of course a re-read for me and damn I loved being back in this world and I forgot how much I loved these books!

- Frostbite – Richelle Mead

It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians—including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks… This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price..
I should really write a review for these books but I didn’t have that brain wave when reading them so it won’t be happening. I loved Rose and Dimitri and I also love her seeing her mother again. That was entertaining.

- Shadow Kiss – Richelle Mead

Is Rose’s fate to kill the person she loves most? It’s springtime at St. Vladimir’s Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since Mason’s death, Rose hasn’t been feeling quite right. She has dark flashbacks in the middle of practice, can’t concentrate in class, and has terrifying dreams about Lissa. But Rose has an even “bigger” secret . . . .She’s in love with Dimitri. And this time, it’s way more than a crush. Then Strigoi target the academy in the deadliest attack in Moroi history, and Dimitri is taken. Rose must protect Lissa at all costs, but keeping her best friend safe could mean losing Dimitri forever…
This one hit in the real feels. I loved it though.

- Blood Promise – Richelle Mead

God this book! I loved the little bits of Russia. I think this is the book we’ll call that Lissa and Rose do shit totally out of character but still loved it regardless.

- Spirit Bound – Richelle Mead

God wasn’t this book a bloody ride. I am living for it though. Also normal Dimitri now I just need my ship back together. Please and thank you…

- Last Sacrifice – Richelle Mead

The astonishing conclusion to the #1 international bestselling series, now in paperback!
Murder. Love. Jealousy. And the ultimate sacrifice.
The Queen is dead and the Moroi world will never be the same. Now, with Rose awaiting wrongful execution and Lissa in a deadly struggle for the royal throne, the girls find themselves forced to rely upon enemies and to question those they thought they could trust. . . .
But what if true freedom means sacrificing the most important thing of all?
Each other.
Awww so sad this is over again. I need more Rose and Dimitri! I will forever love this series no matter how old I get I think.

Married to a local politician, Jane Ramos-Palmer won’t put her dreams aside for her husband’s any longer. Overhearing her husband being blackmailed, Janie realizes nothing in her life is as it seems. She’s willing to ditch all she has, so she can gain everything she ever wanted.
His world was wrenched cruelly away from him. David “Beast” Huntley’s trust has been violated, and being twice shy means he’s determined not to get involved with another woman. At least not seriously, and not any time soon. But Janie provokes something in him. His attraction to her gnaws at him, even though she’s mired in an ugly divorce with a sketchy politician. Staying away from her is in his best interest and his club’s.
When the president of rival MC blindsides and assaults Janie, Beast’s inner-beast is awakened. He cannot fight his attraction for her, no matter how wrong it might be.
I really liked the plot although obviously a very real thing that could happen you know a corrupt politician. I thought some of it was a little unnecessary like Devin’s brother trying to shoot them. That could have been without but other than that I really enjoyed the other aspects of the plot. (If you click on the title or the cover it’ll take you to my full review)

Vida will do anything to save her friend’s life, even if it includes stripping on stage and doing lap dances in the VIP room under her stage name Trouble. All the sensuous moves were just an illusion to gain the information she needed, even if it meant the men who watched thought she would keep the promises her body was making.
Forced to sift through lies and betrayals, Colton discovers a woman who is as loving as she is loyal, but won’t give him a chance. Vida, who tries to ignore the escalating passion between them, learns the hard way that some men shouldn’t be teased…
This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, loss of a child, moderate violence and explicit language offends you. Note: This book may have a happily ever after for the hero and heroine, but will however end in a cliffhanger for her friend…
I really liked the plot and it kept me interested and totally wanting to read the next book, especially as it ends on a cliffhanger and we go straight into Sawyer’s book in the next book. Which I cannot wait to read again.

Sawyer has had one dream her whole life, to escape the smothering love of her mother and a life of poverty. Her goal was just within her grasp when her world is turned upside down. Kidnapped and drugged, she is given to a man she knows nothing about except that he holds her life in his hands.
One night, and two lost souls with tainted lives, find a love strong enough to reveal a secret that just might kill them all.
This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, moderate violence, multiple partners, domestic discipline, death of a child and explicit language offends you.
I really enjoyed this story and it was a great wrap up to the Vida and Sawyer, obviously after this is Shade and Lily’s book and then after that it will be King’s book and damn I can’t wait to reread them. (If you click on the title or cover it’ll take you to the full review.)

Lily is everything Shade wants in a woman. She’s sweet, kind and submissive. When she discovers the truth about The Last Riders, it threatens to tear apart every relationship within the club. Her rebellion causes the predatory instincts to rise in the ex Navy SEAL sniper.
When The Last Riders are threatened by another motorcycle club just as determined to claim Lily, Shade is her only hope of surviving the approaching confrontation. Could their passion be Shade’s downfall?
Warning: This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences only. All sexually active characters portrayed in this ebook are eighteen years of age or older. Please do not buy if strong sexual situations, multiple partners, violence, drugs, child abuse, domestic discipline, and explicit language offends you.
A review will be coming for this book but honestly just Shade and Lily are perfect. ❤️

Cora was mine.
No one knew it, but she was still mine.
Months of spending every spare minute together and then I was sent to keep an eye on Jenkins.
Cora’s brother.
Things went sideways.
The lunatic captured me, tortured me and then I was suddenly dumped at the feet of the Fallen Lords.
Now I was safe with my brothers, but suddenly she wasn’t.
Jenkins has what is mine, and I will do anything to get her back.
Cora was mine.
My heart 💓
I need to sit in a corner and cry.
So you can bet your chickens the moment this hit my kindle. I read it. I was not prepared. I mean I knew it was the last one in the series but I wasn’t prepared for it. I was still caught off guard and sad and shocked and I really don’t want this series to end just give me more. Although we do get to see Alice and Wrecker’s baby in a short novella I think at Christmas? Not a 100% sure about that. (If you click on the picture or title it’ll take you to the full review.)

- Always You – Kirsty Moseley

Movie star looks paired with a quarterback’s body, he’s every girl’s dream guy–but not mine. To me, he’s simply my best friend, the one who has been there as far back as I can remember.
Our relationship has always been easy, playful and affectionate, but after one lost bet, and one payment in the form of a kiss, the dynamic of everything changes…
Note: Always You is book one in the Best Friend series; however, it is a standalone novel with a complete ending.
This is an old favourite and I loved being back in this world and honestly it prepped me ready for Kirsty’s new release (which you’ll hear about in February’s wrap up).

So a really good reading month for me! And so far February is looking a pretty good month too! Let me know if you’ve read any of these or how many book you’ve read in the first month of 2020 and if it’s been a good month or not!
