I’d like to thank Enticing Journey for sending me an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated. This is my first book from this author and the story description sounded so interesting and I loved royal books so I was really excited to read it. Sadly though I did not enjoy this as much as I thought it was.
I really struggled with this story, I could not get into this story. I don’t really know what it was but I just couldn’t get into it. I felt so disconnected from the characters and I didn’t really like them, they weren’t bad characters I just couldn’t connect with them.
This story felt incredibly fast paced and it just went from 0 to 100 real fast but I felt like it really didn’t work with what was happening in the novel.
Nico was a royal trying to run from his responsibilities for a little bit and he lands in the 80s diner belonging to Grace and he begins to work there as a janitor, he very much shrinks his responsibility leaving it to his sister to deal with. Grace is trying to find people for her 80s diner after someone quits and she hires Nico for free only after her brother Alex says no.
My issue with these characters is that they don’t seem 3D so to speak, I can’t really remember anything about them and I read this less than 14 hours ago. They weren’t very interesting for me. Another one of my issues was that I felt like these characters didn’t have any chemistry between them and I was not invested in their relationship.
Although I must say I really love the surprise pregnancy trope being put into this story and I think the author wrote that really well and that was the part of the book I was invested in.
